I want to see Jesus, I want to be with Jesus

I want to see Jesus, I want to be with you, my God....

In her Autobiography, St Gemma writes:
"From the moment when my mother inspired me with the desire for heaven I have always (even in the midst of so many sins) wanted it ardently. If God had left the choice to me I would have preferred to escape from the body and fly to heaven. Every time a fever came upon me and I felt ill I experienced a great consolation. But this changed to sorrow when, after some illness, I would feel my strength return. One day after Holy Communion I asked Jesus why he did not take me to heaven. He answered: "My daughter, I do not take you because during your life I will give you many occasions to gain more merit, increasing your desire for heaven, as you bear the trials of life with patience."

These words in no way diminished my desire. Rather I felt it increasing in me day by day."
(St Gemma's Autobiography can be read here)

During an ecstasy on Thursday, July 3 at 11:00am St Gemma exclaimed-
"Who am I to start talking to Jesus like this, every minute? ... Oh Heaven, oh Heaven, let me think of you! ... At least when I shall be up there, I shall no longer suffer, I shall no longer endure the sufferings and the pains down here. Oh Heaven! in you there will no longer be nights, nor darkness, nor changes, nor time ... Oh Heaven! in you there will no longer be ... ..Only God of God, light of light, sun of justice, who enlightens; His immaculate heart will give you sunshine ... --because consolation is to contemplate God, the king of kings, at the center of Heaven.
How great! ... What consolation, my soul, to be surrounded by the angels, by His favorites!
Everyone's merits are not equal, but each has its happiness. Oh my soul! ... Oh Heaven! ... You will see, when I am with you I shall be satiated, I will no longer have need, not of…… ..
Oh God ... let me be engulfed in the charity of your love ... Oh Heaven! ...
Will I be deemed worthy to see your holy walls? . . . When will I be deemed worthy to see
your foundations, your inhabitants, your King? I commend myself to you, holy
Angels, to you my guardian Angel: open the door.......let me in ..."

And on another occasion-
"When, when will I unite with You, oh Lord, Who with such forceful love keeps me in union here on earth? Do it, do it! Let me die, and die of love!"

and again-
"When will I pass, oh Jesus, from darkness to light, from death to life?....from the fear of losing You...when will I be entirely satiated in your divine beauty?"

"When will I be able to say: 'I belong completely to my God?'... When will I, oh Jesus?...”

"Oh Jesus . . . oh Jesus . . . What are these strong attractions which unite me so powerfully to You? Is it Your heart which beats so near mine? . . . What power there is in Your heart! Explain it to me, Jesus. How is it that this poor soul does not escape from its prison to go to heaven and rejoice in Your Divine Presence? It can resist no longer . . . every morning I hear Your beloved voice . . . I taste such ineffable sweetness . . . "

Gemma speaking to our Blessed Mother-
"When will Jesus come? Tell Him that you too, Mother, want me. I want to go with You . . . I have beseeched Him for so long! You ask and Jesus would bring me very quickly to Heaven.
My Mother, I desire to possess you always and I do not wish to be separated from you any longer. Oh! bring me to Paradise. I can live no longer without you. Do you see the suffering that you are causing me? I need your heart. Yes, each day I seek you in order to pour into this heart the sorrowful transports of mine. Do not leave me . . . o my Mother, 0 my Mother! If you are truly touched with compassion, Oh! Why do you part from a child who loves you so tenderly? If you are not here, who will listen to my prayers? Who will obtain my wishes? Without You I am…as a beggar girl stripped of all assistance. Mother, why do I give up?
Lead me to Paradise. Oh my Mother, my Mother, you are a very pure flower with the whiteness of a lily!"

May we, through the help and intercession of St Gemma, desire with all our hearts to be with Jesus in heaven, and may we also like Gemma, beg Him for His mercy and His forgiveness for our sins. ~St Gemma, pray for us!

"Why, oh Lord do You light up all of myself with Your divine fire, with the fire of Your love? I would like to inflame all the creatures of the earth! ...
Oh yes, I could do it! ... You see, my Jesus, I have such great confidence in You that even if I saw the gates of Hell open, and I found myself at the edge of the abyss, I would not despair. And even if I saw Heaven and Hell against me, still I would not mistrust Your mercy, because I would put my faith in You. You are so compassionate, so merciful!"
